Brian Boitano is an American figure skater from Sunnyvale, California. He won the 1988 Olympics, the 1986 and 1988 World Championships, and the 1985–1988 United States National Championships.

However, the skater is heavily involved in raising funds for cancer patients and survivors with several organizations. 

According to Showbiz Corner, his involvement with raising funds for cancer victims started when his friend  Scott Hamilton was diagnosed with one. 

Hamilton was diagnosed with testicular cancer back in the year 1997. he was again diagnosed with brain cancer in 2004. After being cancer-free for over 7 years, the disease again returned in 2010 in form of a benign pituitary tumor. 

Thus, to support his friend, Scott, Boitano joined forces to raise funds for him and other cancer survivors through Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation. 

Boitano is a suspected cancer victim by his fans and followers as he does not grow hair, but he is not suffering from the disease as of 2022.
