Jerome Ogletree was caught initially as a suspect in Jazmine Trotter’s murder. He made his initial appearance in court in Cleveland Municipal. He was held in Cuyahoga County Jail.
He was set at $1million. Trotter’s family and relatives are still fighting to get justice for the late Trotter after Ogletree’s conviction was dismissed. They have not heard any progress now.
Trotter’s mother, Monique Williams said, “That was the worst day of my life. That was the worst feeling.” Her mother, brother, and cousin found her body on March 24th, 2013.
She was partially clothed and was under a porch. She had been missing since March 22, at 5 a.m. the time she left her boyfriend’s place to walk to her workplace but never reached there.
Cleveland police spokeswoman Detective, Jennifer Ciaccia mentioned that Trotter and Ogletree knew each other. But the case got dismissed, and till now the family is grieving.
Trotter had four years old, son back then seeking some answer and justice to her mother. Polices are investigating much more such cases in the neighborhood.

Jerome Ogletree was a suspect in Jazmine Trotter’s murder case. He was arrested due to a match of his DNA found on Trotter’s body. She went missing on March 22nd, 2013.
The following day of her missing report, her body was discovered at an abandoned home on 3900 blocks of East 93rd. She had blunt force head injuries and was strangled.
Christine Malone was found dead (2013) in a field, along Bessemer Avenue near East 93rd Street. Her case remained unsolved. The official said Trotter’s second suspect was also caught.

Jerome was 43 back then and be in his early fifties as of 2021, was arrested in connection with the murder. He was arrested, as his DNA got matched with one found on the victim’s body.
Not only the murder case, but his felony record was also extensive. He was convicted of drug trafficking and drug abuse, robbery, and car theft, making his crime list lengthy.
